Unions and Associations
Some specialists are represented by the International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers and other unions, but the majority of IEHSs do not belong to unions.
Some IEHSs join professional associations such as the International Society of Indoor Air Quality and Climate, National Organization of Remediators and Microbial Inspectors (NORMI), Indoor Air Quality Association, American Industrial Hygiene Association, and the National Environmental Health Association. The American Council for Accredited Certification, Board for Global EHS Credentialing, Board of Certified Safety Professionals, and NORMI provide certification programs.
