Aerospace Medicine Physicians

Aerospace medicine physicians do not typically belong to unions. Many join the Aerospace Medical Association, which offers a membership category for college students, offers certification and continuing education, and publishes Aerospace Medicine and Human Performance. The American Board of Preventive Medicine, Council of the Aerospace Medical Association, and the American Osteopathic Board of Preventive Medicine provide voluntary certification in aerospace medicine. The American Medical Association and the American Osteopathic Association are the main medical associations for physicians in the United States. They provide a wealth of information on education and careers. The Association of American Medical Colleges and the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation accredit medical schools. Other useful organizations include the Aerospace Human Factors Association, Aerospace Medicine Student & Resident Organization, American Society of Aerospace Medicine Specialists, International Airline Medical Association, International Association of Military Flight Surgeon Pilots, Society of U.S. Air Force Flight Surgeons, Society of U.S. Army Flight Surgeons, and the Society of U.S. Naval Flight Surgeons.
