Find out who services the computers in your school, and ask to spend some time with the technicians. But do not just focus on the technical duties of the people who own computer support services; find out how they go about running an office and maintaining a small business. Join your school's business club and you'll have the opportunity to meet small business owners in your area.

Attend computer science summer camps at colleges and universities to build your skills, learn what it's like to take college-level coursework, and meet people with the same interests.

Participate in competitions that are offered by professional associations, youth organizations, and other entities. For example, SkillsUSA (https://www.skillsusa.org) offers competitions for high school and college students in Computer Programming, Cyber Security, Electronics Technology, Entrepreneurship, Information Technology Services, Internet of Things-Smart Home, Internetworking, Technical Computer Applications, and other fields.
