Contact Tracers

Unions and Associations

Contact tracers do not typically belong to unions, but they can join a variety of professional associations that offer publications, continuing education opportunities, career information, job listings, and networking events, among other resources. For example, the American Public Health Association offers membership for public health professionals and college students, publications such as the American Journal of Public Health and The Nation’s Health, webinars and other professional development opportunities, and an Annual Meeting and Expo. Other useful organizations include the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology, Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists, Infectious Diseases Society of America, National Coalition of STD Directors, and the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America.
