Corporate Lawyers

Work Environment

Corporate lawyers typically work in comfortable, well-lit offices. Those employed at large companies typically have the use of top-of-the-line technology and office equipment, as well as the support of a team of paralegals, legal secretaries, and administrative professionals. Work hours are typically 9 to 5, although some evening and weekend work may be required.

Lawyers involved in litigation must travel to courthouses and meetings with opposing counsel. Those employed by companies with regional or international offices often travel to these locations to meet with top executives and to handle other responsibilities.

Work as a corporate attorney is diverse and personally rewarding, but corporate law can also be highly stressful as a result of the high financial stakes of the business world and the stress of litigation. Despite these demands, many corporate lawyers report high job satisfaction.
