Non-Destructive Testing Specialists

Non-destructive testing specialists work indoors as well as outdoors. They may work in laboratories, aircraft hangars, shipyards, construction sites, manufacturing plants, or other locations. They use computers and various testing equipment in their work. They may be exposed to hazardous materials and substances, so they wear protective gear such as hard hats, hearing protection, or life jackets, and follow safety procedures. They usually work 40 or more hours per week in all types of weather conditions. The work may be noisy, as they may be near loud equipment. Physical fitness and stamina are essential.
