Personal Privacy Advisors

Outlook

The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) does not offer an employment outlook for personal privacy advisors, but it does provide an employment prediction for the related career of information security analyst. Job opportunities for information security analysts will grow by 31 percent from 2019 to 2029, according to the DOL, or much faster than the average for all occupations. Additionally, the recruiting firm Robert Half Technology cited the careers of data, information, network, systems, and cloud security specialists as “in demand” jobs in its Salary Guide 2020: Technology.

Demand will continue to grow for personal privacy advisors as more people go online and use social media, more information (such as health care and banking records) is digitized, and the number of cyberattacks (and their level of complexity) increases. Advisors with formal education in data security, privacy issues, and business management and marketing will have the best job prospects.
