Contract Administrators

Outlook

The U.S. Department of Labor does not provide a job outlook for contract administrators, but it does report that overall employment in business and financial occupations is projected to grow faster than the average for all occupations from 2024 to 2034. Contracts remain a key tool for the successful daily operations of businesses and other organizations, which suggest that demand will increase for contract professionals. Contract professionals will increasingly use artificial intelligence (AI)-powered contract lifecycle management (CLM) software in their work. This technology will eliminate many lower-level tasks associated with contract administration and management, but contract professionals will be needed to evaluate AI-generated insights.

“Industries experiencing rapid digital transformation or strict regulatory oversight are seeing high demand for skilled contract professionals,” according to Sirion, an enterprise CLM platform. “These include SaaS and technology, life sciences, construction, government contracting, financial services, and energy. Organizations in these sectors are prioritizing efficient, tech-enabled contract management to stay competitive and compliant.”
