Unions and Associations
Some drafters may be members of trade unions such as the International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers. The American Design Drafting Association/American Digital Design Association is the major organization for drafters. It offers membership, certification, continuing education, and other useful resources. Other organizations that provide useful resources and professional support include SME (previously the Society of Manufacturing Engineers) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
