App Services Workers

Outlook

The gig economy continues to grow, and many people are working in app services careers to earn a second income or as a full-time job. But the work environment and pay for many of these positions are poor or only fair, and a large number of people leave the field for better opportunities that require at least some education after high school. The pandemic helped to grow the app services field, increasing consumer demand for remote services and giving workers and businesses alternative, more flexible ways in which to work. There will continue to be strong demand for app service workers because many people prefer to use technology to order food and grocery deliveries and schedule home-related services—and ASWs will be needed to fulfill these orders. A report by Deloitte predicts that the percentage of people working in app services will increase to the point that by 2027, gig workers, freelancers, and other related workers will become the majority of the workforce in the United States. App services professionals who are extremely fast workers, well organized, and strong time managers will have the best job prospects.
