Cybersecurity Architects

Unions and Associations

Cybersecurity architects are not members of unions. But many join or otherwise use the resources of professional IT associations. For example, the Information Systems Security Association offers a pre-professional membership category for high school students, college students, and others who have an interest in cybersecurity; publishes ISSA Journal; and offers professional development opportunities. The Association for Computing Machinery provides information on education and careers, hosts conferences and other events worldwide, and has Special Interest Groups on Security, Audit, and Control. It also offers membership for high school and college students, who receive a subscription to XRDS (a magazine for students) and access to competitions and scholarships. The IEEE Computer Society publishes IEEE Transactions on Dependable and Secure Computing, offers continuing education classes, and provides membership to college students. Other noteworthy organizations include the CERT Division of the Software Engineering Institute, CompTIA, EC-Council, ISC2, and SANS Institute.
