Semiconductor processing technicians (a category that includes semiconductor technicians) earned a median hourly wage of $18.30, or $38,060 a year, in May 2019, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. Ten percent of all workers earned less than $12.94 an hour ($26,910 a year), while the top 10 percent earned $30.86 or more an hour ($64,190 a year or more). Technicians earning higher salaries have more education or have worked in the industry for many years.
