Market Research Analysts


Beginning salaries in marketing research depend on the qualifications of the employee, the nature of the position, and the size of the firm. Interviewers, coders, tabulators, editors, and a variety of other employees usually are paid minimum wage ($10 an hour, or $20,800 annually). In December 2019, reported the average annual salary for market research analysts with one to two years of experience was $58,181. The U.S. Department of Labor reports that in May 2018, median annual earnings of market research analysts were $63,120. Salaries ranged from less than $34,310 to more than $121,080. Experienced analysts working in supervisory positions at large firms can earn even higher earnings. Market research directors earn up to $200,000.
