Earnings vary widely depending on the employer, the education, the experience of the dietetic technician, and the nature of his or her responsibilities. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, dietetic technicians had median annual earnings of $36,520 in May 2023, and the lowest 10 percent earned $27,670, and the top 10 percent earned $50,790 or more. Fifty percent of dietetic technicians earned between $31,420 and $43,090.

Salaries vary by employer. For example, dietetic technicians who were employed by general medical and surgical hospitals earned mean annual salaries of $41,130, while those who worked at nursing care facilities made $33,330. Technicians who worked for outpatient care centers earned mean annual salaries of $46,800.
