Health Data Analysts

Work Environment

Health data analysts are employed in typical office settings, although some work all or a portion of their time from home or other remote locations. Most work a standard 40-hour, Monday-through-Friday week. Night and weekend hours may be required to meet project deadlines.

In smaller organizations, HDAs might comprise a “team” of one, which can be stressful if the workload is heavy. At larger employers, they work as part of a team with other analysts, data specialists, and others.

The majority of health data analysts enjoy their careers. In fact, 76 percent of analysts who were surveyed by PayScale.com in 2024 reported being “highly satisfied” with their occupational choice.
