The project management labor force is expected to increase by 33 percent across 11 countries through 2027, according to an Anderson Economic Group analysis commissioned by the Project Management Institute. Nearly 22 million new jobs will be created worldwide through 2027. The institute reports that more than 60 percent of the 214,000 new project management jobs annually in the United States will come from the management and professional services sector. Other key industries that will experience management growth include:

  • management and professional services: 131,010 new jobs annually
  • manufacturing: +23,015 jobs annually
  • finance and insurance: +22,465 jobs annually
  • information services and publishing: +20,000 jobs annually
  • construction: +12,570 jobs annually
  • utilities: +2,927 jobs annually
  • oil and gas: +1,988 jobs annually
