Project Managers

Work Environment

Project managers often work 40-hour a week, Monday-through Friday week, but some may have to work at night and on weekends. Many managers work in typical office settings, while others are employed in manufacturing plants, at outdoor construction sites, and in other settings where conditions may be noisy, dirty, or otherwise demanding.

A career in project management will be a good fit for those who enjoy being in a leadership position and who are comfortable making many decisions under deadline pressure or other stressful conditions and occasionally dealing with employees or otherwise managers who disagree with their management decisions. Many project managers enjoy this career because of the wide variety of skills it involves, the variety of work duties, and the good pay and strong employment prospects.
