Ergonomists

Unions and Associations

Ergonomists are not represented by unions. The Human Factors and Ergonomics Society, Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers, and theĀ User Experience Professionals Association are membership organizations for ergonomists. They offer continuing education, career and education resources, publications, and networking opportunities. The Board of Certification in Professional Ergonomics provides six certification designations for ergonomists. The mission of the Occupational Safety & Health Administration is to "assure safe and healthful working conditions for working men and women by setting and enforcing standards and by providing training, outreach, education and assistance."
