Digital Workplace Experience Engineers

Employment Prospects

Employers

Digital workplace experience engineers are employed by companies in all industry sectors, with the largest businesses most likely to hire them because they have larger budgets and more complex IT systems. Engineers also work for government agencies and nonprofit organizations.

Starting Out

According to the 2021 Digital Employee Experience Career Capital Report, 41 percent of digital employee experience professionals received their position after being promoted internally (based on merit). Another 25 percent applied internally for more senior roles at their company. Only 21 percent of those who surveyed were recruited externally. Methods of learning about job opportunities include attending career fairs and other networking events, using the resources of one’s college career center, creating a LinkedIn site to learn about job openings and attract the interest of recruiters, and visiting the career pages of target employers to seek out employment opportunities.
