Chief Robotics Officer

Work Environment

Work settings for chief robotics officers range from boardrooms and offices to factory floors and design studios. They are also employed at industrial-scale farms, transportation facilities, and any other place where robotics technology is being installed or improved. Travel to installation sites and the offices of clients is required, but the amount varies based on the employer. Chief robotics officers typically work a 40-hour week, Monday through Friday, but they may need to work at night and on weekends to monitor the progress of technology upgrades or improvements, meet with clients and other stakeholders, and to log more office time to meet deadlines. This is a good career for those who are outgoing, can handle a heavy workload, enjoy frequent interaction with others, are open to driving change in their organization (even if this change is sometimes disruptive and even polarizing to employees at first), and are comfortable continuing to learn throughout their careers.
